Overall

4.6

If you're looking for a big resort experience in the Southeast, Snowshoe is the perfect resort. It has the most terrain and vertical in the Mid-Atlantic along with a village filled with a range of lodges and a whole bunch of great après ski and nightlife choices. There are a few high-speed lifts around but on a holiday weekend, lift queues can get quite long. The terrain is mostly suited for advanced skiers and below and it's also important to note that off-piste skiing is not allowed.

It is the closest resort to me, and actually the only one that I have had time to visit.

We had car problems when we were set to leave and were stranded at the top of the mountain w/ luggage and no where to go. we talked w/ the supervisor of the shuttle service near our parking lot. He said he could help. He was able to get us a room at the bottom of the mountain at almost 1/2 price.discount price on ski rental at the ski barn. and... More

The snow conditions during late March are too icy and slushy. That's why we did not go there this year, but went further north to Killington VT.

Conditions and slopes are great for our snowboarding ability. We can drive to the resort from Florida. Package deals are a lot cheaper than in the Rockies.
