With the school holiday period over, mid-week skiing will have reduced crowds, however, weekends will still have peak visitation. Mt Hotham, or Planet Hoth as it's known, has everything. It can get other parts of the world type powder, with tree runs for days, off piste little cliff drops to boardercross, amazingly huge park and beautifully groomed runs. Family friendly resort that starts with easy beginner pistes and that evolve into some of the most advanced back and side country in Australia. Ski in, ski out accomodation with dining facilities that range from pizza and fries to gourmet delights that would have any gourmand tipping their one, two or three hats. "The best snow is what's under your skis" applies at Hotham. Often windy with hardpack or slush and drizzle, it's still great to get a ski day here in with family and friends. ... Moreadvanced skier

Amazingly terrain as far as Australian alps are concerned - however isn't great value for money with very little discounting ever done, practically ghost town end of season, would really have benefited from discounting tickets/resort entry, to encourage participants in an already alarmingly expensive endeavour in Australia - spending 2 weeks... Mt Hotham has a broad range of accommodation and getting around the mountain is easy. Some great black runs and extensive off piste area well. Weekends can be busy but ski mid week even during the peak season and you won't be queuing for lifts. It's a short season to pick your times well.
