One of the closest ski resorts to San Francisco, Boreal Mountain is a mostly park/jibber mountain with extensive night skiing and home to Woodward Tahoe, a year-round playground. Great place to be with friendly staff and good operations. Wish they opened more lifts instead of only 3 max. Love the expert accelator, brings you up the mountain very fast and always no line for it... Moreintermediate skier

Boreal is a great starter mountain. The resort is not very large but there are a number of different runs. Lift tickets a pretty cheap, and night ride is a great value. Overall I enjoyed this park.... Moreintermediate snowboarder

If you like to rock jibs then Boreal is the mountain for you. You can find features pretty much on every trail and it is super easy to hike to dial something in or to stack some clips. There isn't anything too challenging for terrain other than the features they build, which are impeccable, but you can definitely push yourself here. The Woodward... Moreexpert snowboarder

This was a fun resort for my wife and I. It was a little crowded,but had good runs that she was comfortable on. The park there is awesome with some unique features. There did seem to be a little bit of an attitude that good snowboarders are the ones that rule the hill, but for the price who cares. Great value, had a lot of fun.... Moreadvanced snowboarder

Boreal and Woodward Tahoe are amazing for all experience levels! Right off of I-80 on Donner Summit between Sacramento and Reno/Tahoe make it accessible for a day on the slopes for everyone. Boreal is the first resort I went to when I started snowboarding 2 seasons ago, it is a great place for people to learn how to ride, and also has great runs for those looking for something more of a challenge.
