A small family-friendly resort with a good mix of terrain, Snow Valley is less than 2 hours drive from Los Angeles and makes for a great day trip. The resort doesn't see many crowds, most likely since there is no lodging nearby. Conditions also tend to vary as it has a lower elevation than nearby Bear Mountain and Snow Summit. Nevertheless, this laid-back resort is great for those looking for a quick ski fix and even offers night skiing on Fridays and Saturdays.

I like snow valley and its the resort that I learned how to snowboard on. But I think over time I enjoyed it a little less as I got better at boarding. Its a great place for starters and this along with snow summit are readily accessible from Big Bear and serve as a great place for families or people. But if its your first time or you're on a... The snow was so good last year they had the backside opened for the first time in years. There were some great days of shin high powder and fresh lines that were better than my recent trip to Tahoe. When the snow is good this place is great. Not crowded, short lines, great lift tickets deals. When the snow is not great stay away as only a. Few... More

As of new local down here in Southern California I've been going to this Resort for the past 2 years. Has a lot of touches of what I grew up with when I lived up north the smaller mom-and-pop feel that the skiing and snowboarding Community originally grew up on still alive and well at this Resort. Everyone has knowledge everyone is laid- back.... More

This resort is my backyard playground, here in sunny, Southern California. Despite a very dry year, the snow surfaces team created magic to allow skiing with virtually no natural snow. The resort also installed a high speed six pack chair last summer allowing you to reach the top of the mountain in about 5 minutes. As always, the amazing staff... More
