Aspen Colorado is a top ski resort in the world, for many reasons, four ski mountains, a great Colorado ski town, legendary après ski, on mountain ski hotels, gorgeous scenery and great ski events. Of Aspen Skiing Company's four ski resorts, with 5,500 ac combined, Snowmass is the largest, bigger than Aspen Mountain (Ajax),  Aspen Highlands, and Buttermilk which are separate but all included on one lift ticket. Big resort with terrain for all skill levels. great destination resort as there is a lot of onsite accommodation. If its not a powder day i like to start with 12 minute laps on sam's knob then work my way across the mountain to big burn and cirque. On a powder day you can do laps through trees on burnt mountain using elk camp lift

Snowmass has something for everyone. It has plenty of flatter beginner terrain, lots of intermediate terrain, as well as some expert terrain here and there. If you are in the Aspen/ Snowmass area, Snowmass will probably have the most to offer for most people.

I thought that the resort was very family friendly, low key, extremely accessible for skiing, and very fairly priced

Varied and hugh but too crowded

Snowmass has a very "commercial" setting at the bottom of the mountain with a back area that contradicts its bottom mountain atmosphere. It doesn't feel very down to earth as far as "people welcomed here."

No need to rent a car. Lodging is close enough to walk to the lifts or take a shuttle bus.

We learned to ski at Snowmass and my instructor was very good and we have gone back there several more times. We like the bus system, the slopes and accommodations

We've only been there once, but we remember so many good cruising runs that were perfect for both of us--one a low-end blues skier and one an advanced-blues skier. We also liked the place we stayed: roomy, convenient location for a decent price.

3 times in Aspen/Snowmass, and they were 3 of my top 4 ski trips.
