Despite its name, the skiing at Bogus Basin is anything but... Bogus Basin is a non-profit community operated Idaho ski area with boatloads of terrain. You can ski 360-degrees from one of two summits that encompass 2,600 ac and drops 1,800 ft vertical. From Boise, you are just 16 mi from Bogus Basin but it takes a good 45 minutes, and four wheel drive, up a wild wintry road that deserves its own black diamond designation.

Bogus used to be a great family place to visit, but in recent years the new management has ruined it. Now it's overpriced, undeserved and no more fun. If you complain you will get a threatening email from the general manager Brad Wilson. He is an example of how horrible the lack of customer service is, and how they only care about money. Don't... Great place to ski with good prices! This resort mixes the best of a medium /big resort size with a small resort feel and it’s less than a one hr drive from most of Boise. It’s so close to Boise you can see it at night! They have a great rage of different terrain too!... More

As a Boise area native, I learned to ski at Bogus, with $10 night skiing, occasional day trips, and season pass one year. For the money, Bogus is hard to beat. For intermediate to advanced skiers, the backside lifts are seriously underrated and there is a lot of great terrain with long runs and hi-speed quads. Snow quality can be icy at times, but... More

It's a fun locals mountain and worth checking out if your going to be in Boise. Not really a vacation destination. Snowpack can be thin some years, so make sure they have the goods before hand.... More

She's wider than she is tall, but I love her! 30 minutes from downtown Boise, varied terrain, "360 degree skiing" as they say. Great night skiing open until 10pm. Weather is unpredictable and snowpack varies from season to seaon.... More

Overall Bogus was a great beginner mountain for my family. We are 45 minutes away which made in super convenient for my girls to have lessons. Both of my girls moved on to be Alpine Racers through the Brundage Mountain resorts racing program for 6 years. Improvements have slowly been made in the past few years with reasonable rates. We would love... More

Bogus Basin is super close to Boise, although a windy mountain road to get there. A lot of college kids but not a tremendous crowd. They have night riding and not terrible pitcher prices for some suds. Park is fun and creative but the crew could pay a little more attention to detail and maintenance. Overall fun but nothing to write home about. ... More
