Lookout Pass is a relaxed ski mountain that gets a load of snow in northern Idaho, on the Montana border. Just 90 minutes from Spokane or Missoula - equidistance both ways on I-90, Lookout Pass has a high base elevation in a snowy mountain pass at 4,500 ft. Lookout is just 22 mi to Silver Mountain skiing in Kellogg Idaho. Lookout Pass's distinction of skiing in two states Idaho and Montana adds to the fun.  Lookout Pass proclaims more snow other Idaho ski resort, 400 in, and we concur, so does the US Forest Service and NOAA. We found Lookout's snow to be softer and fluffier (in a side by side Idaho ski snow taste test).

For a powder adventure on the border between Idaho and Montana, head up I-90 to Lookout Pass Resort. Epic views (when the snow isn't dumping) and rarely a lift line, Lookout Pass is a fun destination in the wild West.... More

Lookout does not have crazy terrain, but it has the most wonderful people. It is such a great place to learn and a wonderful place to hone skills. Great snow, great skiing, but by far the best people around. Surprisingly good snow and just a great organization. They are not out here trying to exploit the outdoor community. Wonderful little place.... More
