Conveniently located 1.5 hours drive or a train and free shuttle away from Boston, Wachusett Mountain is a small mountain featuring two main peaks and great gentle beginner and intermediate terrain. Given the small size of the resort, it can get crowded but lift lines generally move quickly thanks to the three high-speed quads here. For an added bonus, night skiing is also available across the entire resort.

A family friendly beginner to intermediate resort very accessible from Boston in under an hour. Primarily gentle cruising groomed trails that the whole family of mixed ability can enjoy. However, the resort is small and can get crowded on the weekends and doesn't get much snow. Also advanced and expert skiers will be bored out of their minds.... Moreexpert skier
