Whitefish is Montana’s original Big Mountain skiing (the ski area dates back to 1947), redubbed Whitefish Mountain Resort in 2007. Amazing resort. Very expensive but an amazing experience in world class resort. The snow is amazing and best in the world but very expensive accommodation and food. It is also quite crowded as it is very popular but there are ways around it like specific days and times to go... Moreintermediate snowboarder

Hibernation House is the best place to stay, the staff is very nice and always helpful and can answer questions about place to eat in town and also gives great service.

The amount of snow which creates the snow ghost .. trees covered with large amounts of snow is unique to this resort. Cheap lift tickets are acquireable making the resort very inexpensive, and the skiing was great also.
