4.7

Sitting in New Mexico, Ski Apache is one of the most southern ski resorts in the US and offers up a variety of terrain to suit all abilities. While the runs here aren't the most challenging, the resort receives an annual average snowfall of over 15 ft and the quality tends to be among the best in the region. Just be extra cautious when driving up to the resort as conditions can be quite sketchy in bad weather.

BEAUTIFUL ski & snowboarding paradise. If you hit the mountain within a couple days of the snow storm, you will experience a gorgeous mountain with fluffy pow. The gondola takes you from the bottom to the top in about 10-15 minutes. Wonderful staff who are very welcoming and hospitable. Ski Apache is a great weekend retreat for a small price.

Santa Fe is the next resort that I would have chosen for the same reasons as Ski Apache but not listed.

I selected Ski Apache due to the fact that it is located nearby. I like what it has to offer for all ages. I like the shopping in Ruidosa and all lodging accomodations that it has.

I go to this resort (Ski Apache) because we have a home in the mountains in Ruidoso, NM. We live in Southern CA, so we usually go to Bear Mountain, Snow Valley, or Mountain High for day trips. We went to Mammoth Mountain this past January and the snow was awesome. We went to Whistler/Blackcomb last summer and enjoyed the mountain biking. As a... More

It is a great town and not a total tourist town like many in Colorado. More locals than tourist.

SkiApache is not for everyone. It's small and the conditions can be hit or miss but most of the time, it is not crowded and you can ski to your heart's content. Unfortunately, no ski-in ski-out. You will have to stay in town and drive to the mountain. But it's very reasonably priced.
