Overall
Located halfway between San Fransico and Portland, Mount Ashland is a small ski area that is dominated by advanced and expert terrain. It's steep and demanding, although the inbounds stuff is relatively short. The local mountain is relatively inexpensive and offers stunning views of Mt Shasta.
