Overall
Don't underestimate this small ski area. Mt Rose has the highest base elevation in Tahoe which helps keep the powder in great condition and despite the limited vertical here, the terrain is still plenty of fun. There are long winding beginner runs as well as some of the best chutes in Tahoe. With stunning views of Reno, the resort is just 30 minutes away.

Honestly one of my favorite resorts and ive been all around tahoe the unrivaled friendliness makes you feel like a part of there family and the terrain is unbelievable. The fast chairlifts and short lines mean you never jave to wait long. And if you enjoy alot of of piate terrain then this is the place for you. Located only 15 mins from downtown... Steep terrain with great deep powder. Smaller resort with a convenient location to both Reno and Tahoe. Highest base elevation in Tahoe. Small resort charm with Big Mountain terrain. Slide mountain bowl is a great place to enjoy a deep powder Blue Bird day.... Moreadvanced snowboarder

Tahoe's most underrated mountain and best kept secret, Mt Rose has incredible customer service with the friendliest of faces in addition to awesome terrain for all ranges. Featuring some of the most intense slopes in the region (the chutes) great for people who just like to go fast with also tons of tree coverage to play around in. Due to the... One of the best bangs for the buck in Lake Tahoe. Family owned and a nice change of pace from the big resorts. Lift layout provides great access to all of the terrain. The Chutes should be plenty for anyone who loves the steep stuff. Great views too. A good way to close out a Tahoe trip.... Moreadvanced snowboarder

I moved away from Reno, and asked several times about a pass refund. It's been several months, and they haven't replied. The snow is decent, but keep in mind that it's small. If one of the lifts is out, you're really stuck on one side of the mountain. An Epic local pass costs about $100 more, and you get a lot more for it.... Moreadvanced skier

Mt Rose has the steepest terrain in all of the Tahoe area. The Chutes has a 53 degree pitch run and it is gnarly! High elevation gets a bit better snow than some other resorts in the area but it is in the "banana belt" of the area too. It will get dumps but also can have some dry spells. Super fun place with killer deals for passes and tickets.... Moreexpert snowboarder

Mount rose is awesome. There are great advantages to having the highest base elevation on tahoe. Great snow early in the season. I wish I it was a bit easier to get up the mountain though.... Moreadvanced skier

Great bang for the buck. Conveniently looked near Reno, NV that has many reasonable dining and lodging options. Not too busy compared to some of the popular resorts, but offered great condition for riding. Multiple terrain parks that offer a challenge for all level of skiers and riders.... Love Mt.Rose. Parking on the East bowl is 30 steps from the lift. The main lifts are high speed six packs that take you from the base (at 8,290 ft) to the peak. You can easily get a dozen laps done in 2 hours. The Chutes are the steepest terrain in Tahoe. Usually one of the first resorts to open every season. Only 25 minutes from Reno. Great... More
