Overall

4.8

Don't underestimate this small ski area. Mt Rose has the highest base elevation in Tahoe which helps keep the powder in great condition and despite the limited vertical here, the terrain is still plenty of fun. There are long winding beginner runs as well as some of the best chutes in Tahoe.  With stunning views of Reno, the resort is just 30 minutes away.

I absolutely love Mt Rose... Amazing snow, conditions, and views. Close to Reno and Tahoe. Awesome staff and they really take care of the locals and passholders. None of the overpriced corporate feeling you get (nearly) anyplace else at Tahoe.

The end of the year they offer great deals. They offer a 4 person all day ski lift pass for only $100! It is a great place for beginners because they provide about 4 or 5 ski lift with different difficulties. The gift shop and restuarant is a great attraction with plenty of gifts and delicious foods.

Mt. Rose isn't as glitzy as a lot of Tahoe ski resorts, but it has good snow and good terrain. The Chutes are about as tough as anything in-bounds in California, and can vary a lot based on conditions. The backside has some great wide-open bowls. It's also a good place to learn to ski or board, and usually doesn't get super crowded. The views... More
