Overall

4.3

The only real ski destination in New Mexico, Taos' steep slopes and fun backcountry are a haven for advanced and expert skiers. On the other hand, beginners and freestylers might be disappointed by the lack of variety here. Regardless of the weather conditions, the resort generally holds powder well and will have good packed snow in between storms. Just note, there are tons of cliff zones all over the mountain so don't cut the ropes.

This is actually one of many reasons that includes climate, scenery, food, and laid-back attitude of people compared to many big resorts. Oh, and no snowboards rule.

The folks of the region are super friendly, old school ski feeling, amazing mountain, great snow conditions, no snowboarders to deal with, and does not have the I-70 Interstate of Colorado driving madness & resort commercialization...! Keep Taos snowboard free... =)

Great mountain, no snow boards, base @9000 but can stay in the best town @6000 only 24 minutes away. Best of both worlds.

Taos has challenging slopes for skiers at all levels and is not that crowded. The area is gorgeous and they have a great on-the-slope restaurant called the Bavarian which is outstanding and great fun to take a long lunch-break.

there's a very nice inn down at the Taos resort. They serve hot chocolate during the winter and warm your bed for you, electronically.

It's the perfect place for all types of skiers and I appreciate the fact that snowboarding is not allowed. It is beautiful and the snow quantity and quality was excellent!
