Overall
The only real ski destination in New Mexico, Taos' steep slopes and fun backcountry are a haven for advanced and expert skiers. On the other hand, beginners and freestylers might be disappointed by the lack of variety here. Regardless of the weather conditions, the resort generally holds powder well and will have good packed snow in between storms. Just note, there are tons of cliff zones all over the mountain so don't cut the ropes.

Taos is awesome, and if you think NM can't rock some good skiing and riding you would be painfully wrong. Stoked as a rider I am able to ride here for so many reasons. I've been to the resort countless times with family and every time we go i never want to leave! Although I haven't been in 3 years it would mean a great deal to me to take my struggling family back out for a vacation at one of the most beautiful places I've ever been.... Toas is AWESOME! Toas Ski valley is my favorite place that i have skied. Some things you should know before you go... the terrain available to ski is going to be a little more advanced than your average resort. The easy runs may feel like intermediate runs.
