Overall

4.3

The only real ski destination in New Mexico, Taos' steep slopes and fun backcountry are a haven for advanced and expert skiers. On the other hand, beginners and freestylers might be disappointed by the lack of variety here. Regardless of the weather conditions, the resort generally holds powder well and will have good packed snow in between storms. Just note, there are tons of cliff zones all over the mountain so don't cut the ropes.

I learned how to ski there then spent my honeymoon there at Snakedance Inn. Fantastic!

Taos combines all the things I look for in a ski park: long runs, short wait times for lifts, good accomodations and dining options after a day on the slopes.

Terrific scenery, with good access and location to meet family. TOurism impact is not as destructive to natural system as other areas.
